SCAN - " Safer Communities and Neighborhoods”

Basically, the Unit operates by concerned citizens placing a phone call(s) to the unit which they then follow-up on and investigate further. The Unit consists of specially trained Sheriff personnel who work with both City Police services and RCMP on a case by case basis. Up until just last month, SCAN only operated in urban centers but has since taken on rural cases as well. The Unit has been responsible for numerous urban “drug” residence busts over the past months with their key case resulting in several drug related charges and property seizures in Edmonton.

It has come to our attention that some of the town residents have been approached by Retailers offering combined billing of natural gas & electricity services.

The Town of Sedgewick owns and operates the natural gas system.
Customers within a municipalities gas systems are exempt from participation in natural gas services from outside retailers. Outside retailers are not permitted to offer natural gas service contracts in the Town of Sedgewick.

If you have been approached by a retailer for one of these combined contracts and have signed a contract; you can not be charged any cancellation penalties to get out of the nautral gas part of the contract.
