Position:  PUBLIC WORKS ASSISTANT II

The Town of Sedgewick Public Works Department has an opportunity for an energetic individual for the position of Public Works Assistant II.  Working under the Public Works Foreman you will be mechanically inclined and assist in the operation, repair and maintenance of public works equipment, and roads, curbs and sidewalks. You will assist in the operation, repair and maintenance of the water and wastewater systems.  

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 or equivalency
  • Level I Water Treatment & Water Distribution
  • Level I Wastewater Treatment & Collection
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with Q Endorsement
  • WHMIS & TDG

Applicants who are willing and able to train for a Level I Certification in Water Treatment, Water Distribution, Wastewater Treatment and Wastewater Collection will also be considered.
 
The successful applicant shall:

  • have excellent public relations skills
  • be well-organized and a team player in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • prior municipal experience would be an asset

This is a fulltime position of 40 hours per week. A full benefit and pension package is provided. Salary is commensurate with experience and skill per a municipal grid system. Interested applicants should submit their resume with references:

TOWN OF SEDGEWICK – BYLAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER

The Town of Sedgewick is accepting applications for the services of a Bylaw Enforcement Officer.  The contracted position is comprised of 10 hours of onsite work per month and requires private transportation.  Salary to be negotiated depending on qualifications.

Scope of Work:

  • Enforcement of Municipal Bylaws including Canine, Traffic, Unsightly Premises and Civic Addressing Bylaws.
  • Maintenance of Bylaw Enforcement Records
  • Promotion of Public Safety and awareness of municipal policies and bylaws
  • Court appearances as required
