(A development permit is required PRIOR to building permit applications)
A Development permit requires the following information:
- A site plan: a drawing that shows the layout of the proposed development on the lot as well as existing structures, with measurements sowing side/front and back yard setbacks from your property lines.**
- All legal information: ie Legal address, ownership of property and zoning.
- Contractor and estimated cost of development.
Development Permit
The Development Permit must be signed by the Town of Sedgewick Mayor and the CAO prior to the application for the required building permits.
The Town of Sedgewick contracts permitting services to Superior Safety Codes Inc.
Superior Safety Codes requires a signed and sealed and numbered Development Permit prior to issuing any permits. You can visit their website at www.superiorsafetycodes.com
Please note that it is the policy of the Town of Sedgewick that all town utility services (water and sewer) must be located and installed at the time of the digging of the basement.
**It is the owner’s responsibility to locate the survey pins on their lots – a metal detector can be borrowed from the Town to facilitate this process. Please note that the older areas of Town may not have metal pins.
